Quickly Jump to a Specific Day in Long Telegram Conversations

Long chats can be overwhelming — luckily Telegram includes a fast way to jump directly to messages from any specific date. Below you'll find the easiest, up-to-date methods for iOS, Android, Desktop and Web, plus useful shortcuts, troubleshooting, and fallback tricks.

1. Android (Telegram app)

1. Open the chat (private, group or channel) you want to search.
2. Tap the contact/group/channel name at the top to open the chat info (or tap the three-dot menu depending on your client version).
3. Choose Search (magnifier icon) — this opens the in-chat search UI.
4. In the search UI you should see a small calendar icon or a “Jump to date” control. Tap it.
5. Select the year/month/day you want and press OK (or tap the date). Telegram will jump to the first message on that date (or nearest message).

1. Open the target chat.
2. Tap the chat title at top → choose Search or tap the magnifier icon.
